Hello everybody, today I shall be talking about a book called Moon Shifter 🌙.
I’d say it’s best for ages 8 to 11, but I stumbled upon a corner of the internet claiming it’s a hit for year groups 5 to 8. Fair warning, though: the ending is quite sad ! I mean, I almost turned into a human water fountain myself! But hey, I won’t spoil it for you—wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise of what happens next
Moon Shifter is about a girl called Loveday who can shapeshift into a silver hare, which is as useful as it sounds—especially when you need to hop away from awkward conversations. Since a new Elder (think of them as a ruler of a kingdom) arrived from the ‘Beyond,’ all shapeshifters have been banned, sending the community into absolute chaos. But fear not! Some, like Loveday and her best friend Vineger, have managed to keep it a secret, dodging the Elder’s guards. Vineger decides to help another helpless shapeshifter who just transformed for the first time, while Loveday stands there , choosing to stay put and avoid the drama. Rushing into the forest as if it were a one-way ticket to the next big adventure, Vineger leaves Loveday behind.
